I-Ten Blues

We woke up early and took a longish walk around Meahan State Park this morning. The park is located between interstate 10 and highway 90/98, which makes for a noisy area, but there was a nice raised boardwalk on the edge of Mobile Bay, and a t-shaped pier that we enjoyed.
We left at around ten this morning and pretty much stayed on interstate 10 all day.
The drive wasn’t too bad. We opted to drive through New Orleans instead of taking the bypass around it, but we didn’t stop. We hope to be in Dallas by Saturday night, or Sunday morning at the latest to visit my brother Mark.

Meaher park has a small boardwalk over the marshy part of the bay. No alligators today.

Approach to the George C Wallace tunnel leading into Mobile.

We made it to Lake Charles, Louisiana by 6 or so and are camping in a park that caters to workers for the gas and oil industry. The park attendant mentioned that a new natural gas plant has opened in the last year.
